Peter Simon was born in Germany on August 12, 1950. After studying Engineering at the University in Karlsruhe, he started his career within the Brown Boveri company in 1975 as a Mechanical Engineer for seawater desalination plants. Subsequently, he took over increased responsibility, so that between 1977–1981 he worked as Site Manager for various seawater desalination plants in Saudi Arabia, Libya and Germany.

Between 1983 -1986 he was in charge as General Manager for the building of a thermal power plant based on domestic waste and respectively Technical Manager for commissioning of two thermal power plants in Iran. Between 1992-1994 Peter Simon worked as Vice President at ABB Kraftwerke in Germany,for Central and Eastern Europe and in 1995 he came to ABB Romania where he held the position of Vice President Power Generation. In 1997 he became Country manager and President of ABB in Romania. Since January 1, 2007 he has taken over the additional assignment as Country Manager for ABB in Romania, Bulgaria and Republic of Moldavia.
